Phone connected to car

I am in process of buying a 2014 Volvo w/ Sensus Connected Touch that can connect to the Internet via my phone (not rooted) . The salesman & I tried it out yesterday to see how it works. [Samsung DriveLink app could not communicate w/ the Volvo] We connected using BT & USB cable to charge the phone.

Obviously the hookup is going to use data (just have to watch & see how much) but still do not have to get a modem + pay for another device plan.

Right now Volvo SCT system does not include MirrorLink® capabilty to mirror phone screen to car display, but car makers are working on it.

Anybody else interested in "connected cars"? I love gadgets.

I've had rental cars that had Pandora in it and if you have Pandora on your phone it communicates with that and provides a normal Pandora interface that lets you give songs thumbs up and down, skip, pause, etc.
