Help phone constantly wakes from sleep...help

Varg

Newbie
I've been using the Victory for over a year now with zero problems... within the last week or so, the phone constantly wakes from sleeping and turns the screen on, which drains the battery very fast all day and night.

The phone just sits idle and the screen just pops on, i have it on a 30 second delay, it shuts off, and pops on again every ~45 seconds or so.

its literlly driving me insane and I cant find a fix for it. I tried shutting off the "Connections Optimizer" under mobile network, (when the Connections optimizer is initiated it turns on WiFI as well as turns on the screen, with it off it just wakes up, no wifi.

any help is appreciated.

You gotta either remember or write down ALL the latest APPS you downloaded. Uninstall the latest one and reboot your phone. Monitor to see if the glitch comes back and if so uninstall the previous app....

I was downloading any app just for the novelty of it till I realized the impact on these phones. If you phone's memory is full and out of space, an app trying to copy or update may fail the script over and over and wake yours from sleep.

Beware of Dropbox as favoriting videos/pics will fill up its cache folder on the system drive! Love the app though....

I've also had my Victory battery suddenly drain without usage so I wonder if that's what caused it.

You might want to try an app called Gravity. I like it because the on/off button is a pain to use for wake/sleep and the app worked pretty well for me. With the phone face down, Gravity will stay asleep until you motion wake it.

wow that is really weird... I was having a similar issue just a couple days ago..
I didn't have the screen issue but something was keeping my cpu from going into deep sleep, causing my battery to drain much faster, I downloaded Wakelock Detector and it told me that apparently the alarm from the stock clock app was causing it and also the calendar alarm was checking frequently.. so I don't know what happened to it, but I'm assuming a poorly coded app screwed with it somehow, because I tried several things to make it stop, none of which worked, including force stopping it, clearing the cache, going into recovery and clearing the entire cache, so the only thing that worked for me was restoring an old backup with most of my apps+data intact.

In summary download Wakelock or Betterbatterystats or even use logcat to figure out what is causing the issue and then remove (or possibly clear the cache) of the app causing it and if all else fails... load a backup/start from the beginning.

My wife's victory and was doing the same thing screen waking up all the time . But then she dropped it and broke the screen so I gave her mine because I got an s3 . Never did figure out what was waking up the screen so much
