Help Phone crash, battery, or what?

So, I've got the phone in my pocket after a very light day. Touch the power button to light up the screen and nothing happens. Long or short press, no difference. No action to the home or menu buttons, either. Pull the battery and reinstall, still no action.

After plugging in to the charger, it comes to life. Imagine my surprise when it shows the battery 40% charged.

FWIW, I had just installed Touch Calendar a couple of hours earlier.

I've had that happen once. Something locked up the phone and started chewing thru the battery like crazy. I haven't found a way to track down the root cause yet.

If you download System Panel from the market you can see what us using the most resources. The pay version allows historical tracking to nail down the offending apps.
