The past two mornings when I've looked at my phone I've discovered that it won't turn on until plugged into the charger. It then boots up, showing that the battery has drained completely from being full the night before to empty. There's also a notification from HTC saying the phone's recovered from a system crash. It did this once a few months ago and has been fine since, and then has done it again the past two days. Any ideas what could have caused this, and how to stop it from happening?

It's strange your battery has been flat both times.

I'll give that a try. It happened again about half an hour ago and this time the battery wasn't flat but the only way to get it to turn on was to take the battery out. When it booted back up the date had gone back to 6th January 1980! I can cope with this happening occasionally but its going to get annoying if its going to happen every day.
