Help Phone crashes when I try and answer a call

Hi,
recently bought an htc desire s but the phone on it dosn't work. every time i get a call and try and accept it the phone crashes, when i try and make a call, 50% of the time it is fine but the other times it crashes or goes silent.

any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

When you say the phone crashes, does it appear to turn off and reboot as when powered on? Does it 'crash' in the same way each time?

A few things to check..

Have you installed any apps that change the User Interface of your phone?

Have you installed any apps that interact with calls or the system in any way e.g. call loggers, task killers, etc?

Are there any processes running in the backgound that look like they shouldn't be there or you're unsure of? Menu > Settings > Applications > Running services

What's the Software number on your phone? Menu > Settings > About phone > Software information. (Did you get a recent Over The Air update to your phone?)

Have you rooted your phone?

mine also does this since its been back from repair, accept call - screen goes off,phone is silent, have to either press the sleep button by which time the incoming call has normally hung up or pull the battery to recover.
also when unlocking via screen slider phone hangs just showing the backround for 2-3 seconds the juddery loads the desktop, so back to htc on tuesday again for repair, then once back i expect will go on ebay , ill stick to my nokia that "quietly WORKS"
