Root Phone damaged: void warranty? undo rooting?

Hello everyone,

The other day my phone was slightly damaged. Now it randomly reboots, randomly shuts down, and only holds 20 percent of the battery. I called virgin mobile and they are sending a new one over.

However, my phone is running MIUI and I have clockwork recovery. I read that rooting a phone voids the warranty. How do I undo the rooting? (A nandroid back up? How do I do this?) Can the company know if the phone was once rooted?

I need help

Restore a stock nandroid backup, to go back to stock.
Put back stock recovery.
Use someones Titanium Backup of GingerBreak to restore the app with its data, then unroot.
Uninstall app.

If he/she created a nandroid backup on an UNrooted MT but then installed a rooted MIUI rom, when he/she returned to the nandroid backup made of the unrooted MT, wouldnt the phone be deemed "unrooted" again?
Thanks

OP, either restore the nandroid backup you SHOULD have made before messing around putting custom roms on the phone - OR - grab the stockrom from the thread in this forum and flash it. Then replace the CWM recovery with the stock recovery... and then send it back.

Ok, so my screen got damaged, and you can't see ANYTHING on it at all, I have CM7 on it, and I will be sending it back, how the heck am I going to be able to put a stock backup back on it?

The triumph comes rooted just flash Brandon rom and put the stock recovery, and you're good to go.

I would think that as long as you flash the stock ROM & recovery, you'd be fine. Do a little searching in the Triumph forum- there have been a number of threads by people with the same issue (broken screen, need to restore to factory ROM) and there are ways to do it- it might just take a little longer.

Don't worry about it i have sent multiple phones back to them that had somthing wrong and every phone has been rooted and with a custom rom on it when i send it they never check the info that would be invasion of privacy they just wipe the phone and throw a new copy on it
