Help Phone deleting photos/video

I am stymied (and frankly, pretty peeved) to discover that four photos taken yesterday are GONE! And one video as well .. can someone tell me why this might be happening? Maybe how I can recover them and how I can prevent this from occurring again? I am happy that I uploaded one of them to my facebook before the carnage!

Are you using the stock photo gallery? There have been problems people reported with pictures disappearing or not showing up in the gallery right after taking the picture. With my stock gallery when i would take a pic and check my gallery I wouldn't see the pic. It would show up like an hour later.

Have you placed the memory card in your computer and looked for the pic/video to see if they are gone?

As a gallery replacement a lot of people have switched to an app called quickpic. If you aren't using it already you can try that and see if the missing stuff shows in there.

YAY! Thank you, 2manyPHONES! Yes, I was using the stock photo gallery. I downloaded quickpic and viola! the missing photos and video are there! I cannot thank you enough.
