Help Phone gets really hot

Im currently running Liquid Rom V 1.0 and its been fine. (I dont think the rom is the problem)
This morning I downloaded and app and while it was DL'ing and installing my phone got REALLY warm.
Ive owned many phones and know that during a data entisive event the phone will generate heat which is normal. But it was "really warm" so I did a reboot and it cooled off.
Anyone else experience this? Any way to accuratly monitor the batt temperature with a good free app?

Also, what is the max safe temp for the G'nex to get too?
Thanks!!

The mod scary alien has a battery app . I use wireless tether apk to tell my temperature

I've had this phone hot like 48

Yea I can confirm the phone gets quite a bit hotter than a normal phone. Just got Galaxy Nexus last night and boy did she get hot. I was actually pretty peeved but she did a lot better today in the heat department.. I'm gonna do some more testing but I think it's safe to assume that it's normal to run hot on this phone.

I use System Panel to monitor my apps, usage, battery.. It's not as awesome as it used to be because several of it's features are now in ICS. You can get System Panel Lite for free. Click monitor, battery temp I'm at 80 degrees right now with very light use.

All phones get hot. I just tried the iPhone 4s for the last 12 days, before returning it. That tiny phone got quite hot from use too.
