I was planning on getting a new phone so i decided to try and root my evo just for the heck of it and i think did it all wrong. I reset the phone and the cyanogen mod keeps popping out. Is there anyway i can set it up so i can be like i just first bought it. Thanks in advance guys.

did you wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data before flashing cm7? also if you want to to go back to the stock rom then go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html and go to the 4.53.651.1 gingerbread roms and download the stock odexed version.

or you can try this rom: [ROM] - [MikRoms] - [9/27/2011] - MikG v2.55 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
it is more or less stock but it has sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 built in. and it is way faster and better then stock. try it out.

1.download the rom and transfer it to your card.
2.go into recovery
3.make a nandroid backup
4.wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data
5.select install (or flash depending on which recovery you have) zip from sdcard
6.find your rom and flash it.
7.reboot.

and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the help, i got it to work with mikroms. Can you link me to a way to root my phone?

well if you have mikg no your phone now then you are rooted. there is three main things that are needed to be fully rooted. one you need to have nand unlocked (allows you to make changes to the system partitions for thing like flashing roms or kernels), you need s-off (which just turns the securities off on your phone), and you need a custom recovery. all of which either unrevoked or revolutionary will do for your phone. so if you have s-off and you have a custom recovery and you rooted with either revolutionary or unrevoked then you are rooted.

but if you want a guide please read this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html

and this one:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html

both guides have a ton of info for you.
