Help Phone heating up

Just started using my new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 yesterday. Noticed phone was quite hot when I recharged it today. Happened again while I was talking on it.

Battery problem?

Had similar issues with my old iphone but problems solved when I switched off the mobile data. Don't wanna do that for my new phone.
 
No the problem is usualy caused by "Overusing" your phone it happens to me alot and at the service centre they told me i'm overusing the phone.
So just stop using your phone that often and when it heats up stop using it to avoid damage.
 
To be sure you'd look after the Note's temperature with a battery app like Battery Monitor Widget.

The sensor shows the temperature of the phone's battery. Because it's the phone's most sensitive component.

The Li-Ion battery's temperature operating range is:
for discharging -20C (-4F) to +60C (+140F).
for charging 0C (+32F) to +45C (+113F).

Note, the battery heats up while discharging and charging.
But the main heat comes from the processor ... and that heat additionally increases the battery's temperature.

The battery heats up on my phone when it has a weak 3G signal. I guess the processor is working harder and longer to find a strong signal ?

Any way to prevent this in weak signal areas ?

Thanks! Will get the widget.

I'm definitely NOT 'overusing' it as it was just sitting there being charged and the phone conversation later was only 5-10min long.
