Help Phone is now getting ads pushed to it

I noticed today that when I pull down my notification bar I had an ad in it. Didn't think much about it and cleared it out. Well, not long after that I had another ad showing in there. When I clicked on it it started loading a website called Airpush something. I then noticed I have a green + in my notification bar now. I assume that is coming from this ad thing.

Is this something Google is doing or third party crap? I am and have been running Lookout, but it hasn't detected anything.

The next time you see the ad in the notification bar, long press on it - that should give you the option to go to the app info for the app that is showing the message. You can either disable that notification, or uninstall the app.

Exactly. Air Push detector now says that your device can handle this w/the instructions JJ14 just posted above. That app, while a great app, is not needed on the Gnex.

My wife got that when she installed a free live wallpaper app. It also started creating short cuts on her home screen. Uninstalled it and it went away.
