Help phone is really sloww!!! help

hi im new to this fourm.
ive had my htc desire hd for about 3 months and its a brilliant phone. but recently its begun to lag alot and become really slow, any tips how to stop this or get rid of it??

Is USB Debugging enabled? If not enable it.

Settings -> Applications -> Development

Also, have you installed any apps recently that could be running in the background?
