Root phone is screwed

Pg58diag is not firmware. Be EXTREMELY careful with that file. I would advise not messing with it.

I havent forgot about you... I'm just not home yet. :)

wow im confused lol. im not sure about superCID, or adb/fastboot. i cant remember my fireware and i cant find it anywhere. i did install the latest update at the time earlier in the year. i now have a headache lol. ohh im in baltimore (go O's) lol and it has a tmobile brand.

i am actually not sure where your 1.23 hboot came from... have you run any RUUs or other firmware files? the latest t mobile ICS is version 3.32.531.4,and includes hboot 1.27.0000 and baseband 11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2. neither your hboot or baseband match us t mobile current ICS,or the latest GB,for that matter

further research to find firmware containing 1.23 hboot is in order,if you really desire to have it. i think you would be better off with something more current, even if it causes your current rom to stop working.

i personally would recomend to ugrade to current t mobile firmware(theoretically it may give better, stronger, more consistent signal here in the us),but the universal one linked by yahhboy will work as well.

here is t mobile current firmware:
PG58IMG_firmware_ICS_TMOUS_3.32.531.14_Radio_11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2.zip

here is the latest t mobile GB firmware,if you for some reason should ever need to go back to that:
PG58IMG-firmware-for-1.50.531.1.zip

PG58DIAG is an htc file, that when coupled with an engineering sim card, will take your ordinary branded,simlocked,s-on phone and turn s-off,sim unlock, and superCID.

the file works with an s-off device to superCID and simunlock. there are other ways to simunlock, wich i would try first. superCID is easily obtained without the DIAG file. and you are allready s-off ;) so unless you really need simunlock and other means have failed, you dont need the DIAG file.

you have to be careful with it if you use it. chosing the wrong option once the phone has been booted to DIAG mode could casue it to become stuck in a "flash" mode,as the type of file that needs flashed is difficult to impossible to find. this translates to "your phone is bricked"

hope that helps :)

I havent really done anything. I rooted my phone and done some other things that was suggested on the root thread. I thought i alreeady installed that firmware you just gave me earlier this year but i cant find it anywhere on my phone to confirm it. I didnt mess with anything else for fear of bricking the phone. I guess i have no idea what im looking at, reading and doing.

the way that you confirm firmware is to look in the hboot screen. you will see hboot 1.27,and the baseband that accompanies it.

all you need to do is:
-download either the t mobile firmware i linked,or the universal firmware yahhboy linked
-rename to PG58IMG,place on root of sd,and let the phone flash it

if youre current rom is not compatible with this firmware, and will not boot, then you will need to flash a new rom.

if youre happy where you are,you can always stay with your current rom and firmware until you desire to flash a different rom. at that time, you can flash the firmware as described :)

ok i put the firmware on my sdcard and went to my hboot screen and nothing happening. phone didnt do anything and the hboot stayed the same.

should i go into recovery and unzip the firmware zip file and then delete it. then restart.

no,do not unzip the firmware.

check that your sd card is formated FAT32. if its plain FAT or anything else, youll need to reformat.

look at the file on your sd,with a file manager on your phone. it must be exactly PG58IMG.zip. renaming with windows(which hides the file ext) usually is correct to rename "PG58IMG",but its possible your version of windows may not be operating the same way.

also make sure the PG58IMG file is not inside any folders,or on the internal storage.

Exactly, if Windows is set up to hide extensions and then you name it PG58IMG.zip, you will actually end up with PG58IMG.zip.zip which obviously won't work.

no not yet. lol it seems like everytime i flah a rom it works great for a month or so then it starts acting up, and i always flash it like im told in these threads. but so far so good.
