When my phone goes to sleep and i press the top button, the phone goes white with the htc logo and keeps reloading the widgets. Why

That's a little strange... When you say press the top button, you don't mean a long press, but only like a tap?

Yeah just a tap. The then grey loading box shows up.

Hmmm... strange... I've had it where that happens, but only on a complete restart from dead.

I'll have a bit of a look and try and find something for you... bear with me though... I'm mid-way through decorating the living room!

Hi peterjmay!

Having had a bit of a look, the only thing I've managed to find for now is to do with where you saved the widgets to... are they on the Phone's internal memory or the SD card... it seems quite a few people have had this sort of issue (albeit on other devices), when widgets are stored on SD cards.

You'd need to move the widgets from the SD card to the internal memory and then reboot the phone. Let me know if this sorts it for you!!

Cheers!!

EDIT - sorry it took so long for me to get back to you!!!

Sorry... just re-read what my last post said and have now editted it... others were having the issue when they had the widgets installed on their SD cards... if you have the widgets on the SD card, you'd need to move them to the internal memory of the phone.

If you don't know how to move them, then I would imagine that they are not on the SD card.

Does widget work when the apps are on the SD card???? I am pretty sure it doesn't work if it is on the SD card...

I have seen this on the Sensation and is was caused by HTC Sense process force closing.. but there was no solution apart from a wipe of the data from one of the HTC Sense application that keeps force closing... If you know what process is force closing you might be able to solve it.

I had mis-typed my original response. I'd read in a couple of places (when trying to find an answer on this), that the issue was to do with having widgets on the SD card, rather than the phone. My suggestion should have read (and I changed it to reflect that) to move the widgets to the phone (if they were on the SD card).

Perhaps your other suggestion would solve the issue though!
