Help phone keeps ringing while chatting using WhatsApp

I've noticed that since the 2.3.3 update (or maybe not) whenever I'm using an application called WhatsApp to chat, my phone keeps ringing as if I have an incoming call. Does anyone else have this problem. It is very annoying and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Can someone shed some light ...

If you have specific ringtones assigned to contacts, Whatsapp uses the ringtone as their message tone as opposed to your default notification tone.

Open Whatsapp -> Menu -> Settings -> Message Notifications -> Contact Ringtones (uncheck).

That should sort.
