Hello All,

have a question here, every 3,4,5 days or so my cell keeps switching to a russian country navachooka ( something like that ) it did it yesterday around 1:30PM PST it was on my home screen on the weather a day ahead with fog time was 6am, this has been going on now for couple weeks i believe, so i went into settings and did a factory reset cause there is no way of deleting that profile or time zone, i have to keep doing this everytime that country comes up.

i called Sprints tech support we tried several time this code ##786# then menu then reset then put in the password code (password) and it wouldnt wipe the phone all my data/contacts was still there. So i called our local shop here they said thats just a soft reset and when i stopped in there shop and told them my problem they said it was the satellite's crossing blah blah.. i find that hard to believe cause it started after the last firmware update.. so my question is has anyone else have or had this problem? and is there something i can do? im tired of wiping my cell every few days.
I have nothing installed basicaly its stock.. Thanks for reeading.

I have been having the same problem. Not sure what it is. Also if that password is your MSL number then you might want to edit your post and delete the number so no one will see it.

That password is what sprint told me to type, but i took it off, thanks,

yea its strange alright, hasnt done it since i posted this, but there gonna send me another phone that will be already have the new updates. so im thinking maybe i had a bad download of the new update if thats possible? didnt have any errors when it loaded tho.
are you located in so, cali, aswell?

Mak916...you might want to take if off your quote since its still 100% visible! I was having this issue too except my phone was defaulting to Buenos Aires, Brazil. I called Sprint, they reprovisioned and refreshed my data profile and its been 3 weeks now without an issue. You just have to find the right tech. I usually have good luck but then I'm calling at really odd hours like...in the middle of the night.

^Good catch, thanks, I zinged it.

All sorts of strange things can get tangled in an update. At the first sign of absolute weirdness, I always recommend backup, hard reset, restore, instructions here - http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-support-troubleshooting/141369-how-fix-froyo.html

That said - we've seen various issues like this one crop up and disappear spuriously on the HTC phones in general, not just the Evo - again, with few exceptions (like your report so far), it's transient and not terribly recurring.
