Help phone lights up at night

Just bought the Samsung Charge and the desktop dock. When on the docking station the phone enters the desk cradle app. I have the silent time app installed so I'm not disturbed at night. When the phone reaches full charge or I get emails or texts the screen lights to notify me. This light will wake me up at times. I know I could cover it; however, I'm looking for other options like a phone setting if possible.

Can't you power off and then dock it?
Are you sure it's not possessed? That would be awesome.
