Help phone likely bricked

After several attempts trying to apply Lag Fix, my phone ended up doing endless boot loops and due to my ROMs being on the SD Card instead of Internal SD, I could not flash it and seem to not have access to somehow get the ROM file from External to Internal SD. I then tried to restore the Stock ROM through Odin and it failed miserably, with several stalls that eventually led to the screen shown below. This screen stays on when I press the power button and nothing else seems to work. Removing SIM and SD Cards also did nothing.

Need advice. Phone is still under warranty and I have insurance, but not sure if I can claim warranty in its current state.

I've never had to use odin yet on this phone so I dont know what download mode looks like. If the phone was totally bricked, then I would have to guess you wouldn't see much of anything. So I'd say try to get into download mode again. I've read that sometimes the vol up will switch with vol down so try it either way. If you can get into download mode, then try to odin back to stock. Try this True Stock 2.1 firmware for vibrant - xda-developers

If you can't figure out getting into download mode, try this.

*Start Odin on your PC first
*Completely shut off the phone(pull battery while un plugged)
*Hold both volume buttons
*Insert USB cable while holding the buttons

If you see a little android guy with a shovel you are good.

That's definitely not bricked.

1. Start Odin
2. Plug your phone in via USB
3. Put your phone into download mode by holding the power button and the up/down volume buttons
4. Once in download mode, check Odin to make sure it's showing com 3/4.
5. Flash your rom of choice
6. Done

I've receive that exact screen twice because Odin is finicky (I was also messing around with various lag fixes). My first attempts almost always freeze on the "cache" section. I end up pulling the battery and ended up with that screen. I follow the steps I listed above and reflash again and everything works just fine.

I have yet to see a real case of bricking a Galaxy S phone. This is pretty much the worse case scenario.

Update:
Got it back into Download Mode just repeatedly trying the Hold Vol- and Power button non-stop, and it went through. Got Odin to go through complete as well so now phone is in full working order. Thanks everyone for info and advice. After putting on the True Stock 2.1 ROM via Odin I installed the GPS Fix (haven't had chance to test) and the One Click Lag Fix.

It can take awhile because the timing has to be just right. Took me a good hour of trying over and over and freaking over again to get it lol.. Once you do get it tho, it becomes much easier as the timing becomes obvious.

How long do you think it took you to get in to download mode? Did you do anything specific to get the phone in to download mode besides pressing volume down + Power. My phone is the same way and I have tried countless times to get the phone in to download mode but have not been successful.
 
If by "download" mode you are referring to the recovery console which you need to enter in order to activate the root/One Click Lag Fix, then you have to be holding the Volume Up AND Volume Down keys at the same time (while the phone is off), and THEN hold Power (while still holding both volume keys). Basically hold both volume keys with each of your thumbs, and then use one of your index fingers to pull on the power button. I don't know if it was said in this forum, but DO NOT HAVE YOUR PHONE USB PLUGGED IN WHEN YOU BOOT LIKE THIS. lol It will not boot into the recovery console if the usb is plugged into your computer, for example. If you try this reboot and it freezes on the "Downloading..." screen, simply hold power button until the phone turns off, and then try again. The phone should boot into the recovery console without hesitation, and then you can select the second option on the list in order to load the update.
 
it seems like ODIN3 v1.30 did this to my phone. i cannot get my phone to get back into recovery mode. how long did it take for you to break this loop?

I am getting the same screen as you were (phone!PC), but I can't get it into download mode. How did you do it? What was the timing and exact sequence?

I think I might have your first real case, if you haven't seen one by now. I've tried flashing my GT-I9000M with ODIN using three different ROMS, with and without the .PIT file, and it says it's successful, but it keeps flashing the "GALAXY" screen in an endless loop and won't boot up.
