Help phone mutes media volume

Whenever my phone rings the media volume automatically goes to zero, when a call ends the volume bar comes on screen showing the media volume at zero. The thing is when im at the gym with headphones plugged into my phone and the phone rings, I ignore the call but the media volume stays at zero so I then have to pick up the phone and manually turn the media volume back up which isnt easy when running on the treadmill etc and it really bugs me. Why doesnt the media continue at the same volume as before after the call? Is there a way of stopping calls muting the media volume?

I can't find any way of stopping the muting, but after the call ends (or the calling party hangs up if you ignore the call), the volume is supposed to return to normal. But I can't find any reference to where the problem is, or whether it's fixable without a motherboard swap. (Except for 2 claims, 1 that getting rid of all your running apps fixes it, the other that using advanced task killer to kill everything fixes it - neither of which makes any sense to me.)
