Phone not accepting calls from dad ( how it got solved)

This is just sharing my experience on how the problem started and was solved, maybe someone will find it helpful.

When I first got my Htc Desire it didn't accept phone calls from dad, only dad. The phone never rings it just shows a missed call and dad's phone gets a number busy message, which happens when you decline a call. I didn't bother to look it up or fix it. Dad had other phones at his disposal and it meant less phone calls to check where I am

Dad asked me to fix it.I looked through all call settings but found nothing.
It got worst. My phone started loosing signal. Usually a reboot would fix it. Soon the phone gave me a "no sim card" error. That was so confusing. I thought the hardware was badly damaged if my phone can't detect the SIM card.
I removed the sim card and put it back again in a hopeless attempt before taking it to the shop. I thought that is stupid thing to do, but I had no options. That actually solved all these problems

There you go, removed and then placed the sim card again, that's all it took to fix these problems.

There's a reason all phone shops will ask if you've tried rebooting your phone and removing/replacing the SIM card
