Help Phone not detection USB connection

I just got the Casio Commando and when I tried to hook the phone to my pc via the supplied usb cable it doesn't work. I've looked at other posts and see that I should be getting a notification about the connection and asking if i want to select mass storage mode, sync or charge only but I'm not even getting that notification.

I am doing something wrong or is it possible there is a hardware issue with my phone.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Install the drivers found in the All Things Root thread. They'll help (fix) charging and other USB problems.
