Root Phone not recognizing ringtones folder?

I am using a Nexus S with the ICS KANGY-S ROM (v7) and for some reason, the phone won't recognize the ringtones folder for ringtones. Now, it worked fine back on Gingerbread, but for some reason none of the MP3s I have are showing up in the ringtones list.

They work with other alarm/etc programs, just not the native ringtone/alarm settings. Is this some issue with ICS? Is there some setting or new folder name I'm missing? I would just like some different ringtones that I was using previously on this phone.

Also, I have tried both SDCARD\Ringtones and SDCARD\media\audio\Ringtones.

Hi
check the folder for a file called .nomedia and if there delete.

If this doesn't work hopefully someone else will have A further suggestion.

On the Galaxy S, had to put them under Media, Audio. See if you have a folder on the SD card like that.

They disappeared after updating to GB and had to tweak to get them back.

The other option is copy your card over to a computer, format the card in the phone if possible, then copy the files back from the computer.

Neither or those suggestions work. The .nomedia was deleted AND I tried moving them to just media>audio, but still no recognition by the default sound settings.

I may try formatting the "SD Card", but I'm sure that won't work either.

Try uncapitalizing "Ringtones." Also, are you sure your internal storage is mounting successfully? I know that with some Kernels I've used, the internal storage doesn't mount correcting when booting.

get root explorer and copy your ringtone to [before copy ,press "MOUNT R/O" button to show "MOUNT R/W" so you can modify system folder] : system > media > audio > ringtones > exit Root explorer ! ...eventually reboot the device ...you will find it in the ringtone menu under settings > sound :)
