Root Phone not working : /

Had mik 3.11 for a while and wanted something different. So I got Decks reloaded. made a nandroid, backed up my stuff, wiped and rooted. Turns out titanium didnt backup my contacts at all. Lame. I need those. so I went back to recovery, wiped the phone and restored my nandroid. Now my phone boots up to where I see the wallpaper and icons across the top like battery level, wifi, etc. But no buttons pop up and nothing responds to my touch. Volume does nothing. Power button turns the screen on and off but thats it. Anyone ever experience this or know how to fix it? maybe how to get into recovery after a battery pull?

Try to restore teh nand again. To get to recovery, pull the battery and hold power+volume down. That will get you to h-boot and you can navigate to recovery from there.

Your contacts should be backedup to to google. It should restore whenever you sign into google play.

Finally, you shouldnt be backing up system apps with titanium (apps in red font)

Well, your contacts should be synced with google and will restore when you sign into google on your new rom.
Anyway, perhaps your nandroid is bad, try to restore again?
Worse case, a reflash of MikG is in order.:(
Nandroids can sometimes get corrupted.
What recovery do you use?

Edit: Rx wins again!!

I always uncheck everything that is in the red font. ive never had a backup behave like this. I even got a text message while in this strange frozen state. I heard it, saw it in the top status bar but could do nothing about it. its like my phone is working but has absolutely nothing on it. wiping everything and re-restoring now... oh, I use the newer amon-ra recovery.

Sounds like you're partitioned, but didn't back up sd-ext.

Almost right. :) After wiping and re-restoring I thought about that and realized I didnt check the box to restore the sd-ext. I did back it up when I made the nandriod, thank goodness. Once I restored with sd-ext checked as well, it was all good. Thanks for the helpful comments! :)
