Help Phone numbers suddenly have area code prefix

[Mayhem]

I originally had an Ally. Then I bought a Droid X and swapped it for the TBolt a little over a week later.

With the Ally and DX, my phone book was fine. For some reason on the TBolt, all of my contacts now have the areacode prefix. So when I get a call from someone in my contacts list that is not listed that way, the phone shows the number with "unknown."

Is there some way to stop that from happening? I looked in Backup Assistant online and don't see anything.

Thanks.

I feel your pain.

Bump.

Probably a fault of Sense UI. Wish they'd include the AOSP Contacts.apk as a choice for managing contacts.

Hmm. I guess I'll be emailing HTC.

Barring that, is there some place to get that .apk without even considering a warez site?

Wouldn't need to do it through warez, but as I don't have the phone, not familiar with its rooting scene and replacing the Contacts app.

Ah. I didn't know the phone had to be rooted. I'm not comfortable going that route. I'm not confident that I wouldn't brick it.
