Alright so I rooted and loaded Froyo last night.. but it looks like 2.2 has some added security features and requires me to have a password on my phone because im using exchange email.. is there a way around this..

Just curious (sorry, don't mean to jack your thread) - what Exchange client do you use on Froyo (for the Eris)?

If you use exchange mail you're probably reading work e-mail right? So part of the security requirements for exchange are a password. You need to have some sort of a password or pin to get into you're phone. So long answer short is no there isn't a way to turn that off or work around it. It's not a bad idea to have a pass set up anyway. Think of someone you really don't like getting a hold of your unlocked phone, what would they have access to?

P.S. with some exchange clients (webmail) you can also remotely wipe you're e-mail and possibly your phone, if it fell into the wrong hands.
