Help Phone possessed when charging

fillory

Lurker
My phone is possessed! I am currently traveling, so I have my SIM card removed to use the Wi Fi. But when I plug in the charger to recharge the phone, it turns itself back on, then it seems like a phantom user is trying to place calls, send messages, record video, etc. I am not connected to wifi when this happens, and it tries to get back on the WiFi system. Since I do not have the SIM card in, it cannot complete the calls, but it is very persistenant, even trying to use Emergency calling and turn off my Flight mode.

I tried a factory settings reset :( but that didnot work. Nor did installing various antivirus.

Could a human be accessing my phone when charging, or is this an incredible effecient virus that triggers when plugged into an outlet? I feel like a remote user is using my phone when it is charging.

Anyhelp is appreciated, I am ready to give up, I do not want to harm my contacts by adding in my SIM card, so this phone is unusable at this point.

Thank you Forum members!

I have heard of some phones acting erratically when on charge and often it's because of a problem charger. Since the touch screen is capacative (and so relies on a static field), it stands to reason it would be sensitive to poorly grounded or damaged chargers.

A quick way to test this would be to open up some kind of drawing app (this is one I found on the market) and then plug the phone in to charge. If you see things being drawn, you know it's random, rather than anything malicious.

If it is indeed the problem, you'd have to swap chargers/USB cables/plug sockets until you found out which was responsible.

Sounds like a charging problem to me too. (Unless you live in a haunted house.) :)

Forget about those antivirus programs, they are pretty much useless. Probably because the chances of actually having a virus on your phone is close to 0%.
