Root phone randomly died

So when went to bed last night I put my phone on the charger and the battery life was about 30%. I woke up during the night to see that my phone had somehow turned off. It was a good thing I woke up and saw that or I would have missed my alarm. I turned the phone back on and things have been running smoothely since. Any idea why it would turn off like that? My phone is OC'd at 1.25 gHz, is it possible that its unstable?

And here I thought you fried it due to the thread title and as I skimmed and saw OC :P now this has never happend to me could be do to unstable proc but I doubt it as you had it on idle thus sleeping.

unless you had it overclocked while idle
meaning when screen is off phone is overclocked at
1.25
min 1ghz
and if you have automatic update of apps
that could cause it to overheat
but it shouldnt cut off.

maybe you were sleep walking and cut it off???

or a bad dream that your phone was a blackberry, and you were doing a battery pull!

hahah ^_^
