Help Phone randomly shuts down, must remove battery

After flashing Syndicate Frozen and Twilight over cyanogenmod7 on my epic, it has begun to randomly shut off when im not using it. I can't unlock the screen or turn it on, so I have to remove the battery and reboot the phone. I'm fairly new to flashing so I'm worried I might have done something wrong. I also had a problem with superuser's "su binary" being outdated, but not being able to update. after looking around i 'solved' this by uninstalling the app on the market which left me with an older version. Not sure if relevant but I would like a clean install before i set everything up on my phone again

Are you using SetCPU or VoltageControl?

Even if you aren't, I would suggest enabling journaling... It could help you with the issues.

Also, be sure to wipe x3 before you reflash SFR again.
