Root Phone Re-rooted itself

I've been having trouble with my GPS like alot of other Inspire owners. I had rooted my phone about a month ago and then unrooted it a few weeks ago. Today I decided to do the volume down/power just to flash my phone and when I looked in the settings and apps it was Rooted somehow. Can somebody please explain this? Bad thing is that my phone does not have HSUPA enabled because of the root. I like the root, but I liked the better speeds as well. My GPS seems to be acting better at this point. Any advice would be appreciated.

You probably still had the rooted ROM .zip on your SD card. When you booted into HBOOT, it installed the rooted ROM.

Since you're rooted, why not install a custom rom which includes the 4G feature you're looking for? Try this - Inspire 4G Android Development - xda-developers - to find the rom. I know there's a couple of them available.
