Busybox is a small executable file that many root apps need to function properly. Most rooting methods include it by default. Towelroot did not include it so I added the extra step in the guide. Around when we first used towelroot for this phone we didn't realize that towelroot wasn't installing busybox and as a result some people had issues with certain root apps and init.d scripts.
