Help Phone Restarting Over and Over and Over

wow. I was in the middle of posting about some random problem I was having with notifications when my phone said something like "com Android application has stopped working unexpectedly," I got a pop up about 10 times, without ever hitting "force close," the only button offered, then my phone shut off. It has now been restarting itself over and over and over and over for 5 minutes. I did a battery pull. No change. I took out the SD Card, no change.

this renders my phone utterly useless... ARGH!

Help?

Pull the battery, and reinsert, hold the volume down button then press and hold power till the phone turns on. From there you can do a factory reset.
Use volume buttons to highlight a choice and power button to select it.

cool deal. Thanks. While waiting for a reply I saw the tips and tricks thread.

I have done a recover and it appears to have wiped my contacts and stuff.

My annoying message about being low on disc space is gone. that's a plus.

Seems to have at least fixed my Zombie Phone problem.

Thanks, Forums.

cheers!

If your contacts were "Google" contacts, they'll come back once you set your Google account back up and start syncing again.

good to know.

Hahaha. it appears to have erased my purchased apps but left little droid icons on my homescreens where they were placed. I hope this turns out to be easy to remedy (as in "go to market. re-download.").

I love my phone. I hate my phone. I own a Droid. My Droid Owns Me.

That's my new motto.
