Phone says "charging" - battery going down

My phone is plugged in using the original adapter and cable, phone says charging but the battery level is dropping steadily.

I've tried using the USB socket on my laptop, and the same thing.

Any suggestions beyond "panic" ?

panic over! I remember I had a generic (read: CHEAP) plug charger for when I go on my travels; plugged it into that and it's now charging it's little head off.

Whew!

I'm thinking the USB>Phone cable may be dead for power now tho.

I has exactly the same problem with the same solution.

Get in contact with HTC as they replaced my cable free of charge.

Worth a shot.
