Hello,

Well when I installed my zagg htc evo 3d antiglare/fingerprint screen yesterday my phone screen was fine ,but a couple hours later the bottom right part of my phone screen is showing VERY low brightness ,but the left side is fine. The issue went away and I was good for 3 day ,but the issue returned AGAIN and I don't know what to do? Any suggestions?

It sounds more like a hardware issue, which requires a replacement. I would clean install a different rom to rule out the software though. :D

What are the install instructions for this? I know some require you to use liquid or water to install them and those usually end up with people having water damaged screens. Hopefully, this brand doesn't require a liquid to install it.. if so you mightve got liquid or water under the screen and now the phone is damaged.

All that I've ever used have been wet application protectors, you use just a few drops of water, it's not like the phone actually gets wet. In over a decade I've never had any problems. The static type don't provide any impact protection and usually have to be replaced fairly often due to scratches.

Evo design 4g had gaps on the screen edge bigger than our phones. Seen one in person try the water method on the design and now it's damaged. Just a little bit of water getting under the screen can screw up that phone. Maybe this one also

Yes ,but this is deionized water which shouldn't hurt it. i think i used to much of the water stuff they gave me though and that could of hurt it

I've always moistened the protector and then just a few drops on the screen, have done it at least a dozen times without any problems. The liquid that's supplied is just a little bit of dish washing detergent mixed with water. :p

should i try to flash another rom then or dry it out get a replacement?

I would try flashing a different rom you have nothing to lose and it would help confirm that it's a hardware issue. :D

Well its hardware good thing I have 2 virgin mobile replacements they sent me. Guess I must flip a coin to decide which one...

I would see if you can root and get s-offed on the first one, sometimes HTC replaces the board on refurbs, which will prevent you from going s-off. At least if that does happen, you have another one right there. :D

I never used any screen protectors, but I had a similar issue with my phone screen. It was just sitting on the coffee table minding its own business, and suddenly went totally dark. I tried reboot, etc..., nothing helped, but a few hours later the screen came back, with dark shade in right bottom corner.
Changing ROM's and going back to stock didn't help. It was a hardware issue.

I had a bricked phone laying around, so I took the motherboard from my phone and swapped it in the bricked phone, and it works good now.

I have extended-life double size battery, but I don't think that caused it. Never dropped it in water. I have had the phone in the hot-tub so maybe moisture could have gotten in.

But I did have some apps I suspect kept overheating the phone, and I suspect that damaged the screen.

I have read that the EVO V/3D can overheat easily, and combine that with a screen protector, it might have damaged your screen

Now I don't use the suspected apps anymore, and the phone seems to stay cool.

Screen protectors help you keep your phone fingerprint-proof and scratch-proof and some are antiglare so you can read the screen in the sun. I like them

The problem with matte, anti glare protectors on this phone is that they really screw with the 3d when you use it.
