Help Phone shutdown during a call.

The phone completely shut itself off during the first call I made. When I turned it back on it sent an error report to HTV Dev.

Anyone here experiencing these issues or have any information on fixes or future OTA addressing the problems?

Plugged in or not?

The phone was not plugged in but nearly fully charged. I was in the middle of a call with my boss and it went silent. I kept pushing buttons on the phone until I realized it had powered completely down on its own.

I haven't been able to replicate the problem and I've been using the phone in many different ways all week without a single reboot. I'm guessing it was a random thing.

Phone seems stable and solid now. I really miss not having a menu key like the old 4g had. Battery life on this model is much better. Better than the seidio extended battery on my old 4g.

My new one's been fine, but on the second or third day of my Sammy Moment as well as my original Evo, it locked up completely, same thing on my Evo 3D, and same thing is reported in the forums on various models (HTC, Samsung, Motorola, doesn't matter) glitches like that and then, as in my case, never gives a lick of trouble again.

I write off at one glitch per new phone as something about the new.

I agree with Rxpert, if it keeps up, take it in as defective, but if you never see it again, personally, I'd write it off as a glitch.

Agree though - those never happen when you care, it's like the gremlins know.

If you're into rooting, you can get mods to change your buttons to get a menu back.

The gremlins know indeed...

I rooted the phone after having it on about 5 minutes so maybe that caused something to go wacky.

I've also applied the apple tyranny fix from one of your others posts.

Thanks for the support.

Edit - Is there a remap flash just for changing the buttons? I'd like to stick with the stock rom but try the menu button remap thing.

This happened to me once I was unplugged but had been on a call for nearly 20 minutes and then my phone rebooted on its own

I would go ahead into recovery and clear your Dalvik cache and cache (do a backup first) - you just never know after rooting.

Just the buttons? Yep - here's the mod -

All H.O.E. (HTC One EVO) mods by RunAndHide - xda-developers

PS - drat - you need to be on a deoxed rom. OK, you can find the find stock rooted rom, no other changes except deodexed and with Busybox, here -

[ROM][Updated 5.27.12]Stock Rooted 1.13.651.1 - Odex & Deodex - xda-developers (this one adds Busybox, which you'll want anyway)

Had something similar today myself. In the middle of a call everything went dead, screen was black, no indicator, no response to touch but back light was on. Tried holding power for 10 seconds, plugged the phone in (no charging light then) and tried again, nothing till I held power and volume up (or down, can't remember now) and it finally rebooted.

Phone dialer has also been very laggy lately.
