Help Phone shuts off randomly

I have a Galaxy Note 2, and it shuts off randomly and continues to restart itself until the battery runs out, or I plug my charger in. The battery will usually be drained once it is turned on, even all the way down to 0%. I think it might be a problem with the battery itself and when I checked it, the battery is slightly popping out and I taped it back in but the same problem continues, though not as much. Should I buy a new battery?

^^absolutely this. Do you mean the battery was swolen? If so do you have a spare phone you can use until you replace the battery?
In the meantime search youtube for phone batteries exploding. Scary stuff
This is my current favourite (although I know you won't be stabbing your battery)
