Help Phone Shuts Off When Pulling Down Notification Bar?

Dankees

It doesn't happen every time, but it does happen from time to time - my phone shuts off when pulling down the notification bar. What is that?

Very odd. The only thing that I can think of would be if you have a launcher on the phone set to turn it off based on a swipe down? If not, it sounds like a major defect and you should try to get it exchanged.

ADW Launcher EX allows for "Gestures" to launch certain actions, ie Open/Close App Drawer, Notifications, DockBar, etc. I've never used GO Launcher, but I thought they might offer something like that...

Yeah, they're a little annoying at times, but I use a swipe up to hide the dock bar to get more screen.

If your issue really happens alot, I would bring the phone to a VZW store and have the give you a replacement. It's definitely a strange issue.

Mine did that from time to time also.
It would also reboot sometimes when typing a contact name in Gmail or typing a URL in the browser.
I have to say it's software related because it hasn't happened once since I installed a ROM.

when you say "Shuts off" does it just go to sleep or does the phone power off completely?

either way, very weird and not normal.

Mine completely shuts off from time to time. Usually when pulling down the notification tray.
