Help Phone shutting itself down

Recently, ive been finding my phone turned off, for no apparent reason. I wouldnt be doing anything with it, and then i go to use it and it begins booting up, with plenty of battery (so its not like it died). Its not rebooting (which seems like another problem). Anything i can do to fix this?
 
The battery contacts may need some cleaning or it could just be a bad battery altogether.

You could do a factory reset to rule out any software issues, but usually the phone would just reboot, not shut down in that scenario.
