Help phone slowwwwwd down overnight?!

Hey all,
As the title states, I havent really done anything weird and suddenly i find the phone much less responsive than yesterday. Apps open much slower. there is a pause when i hit the home screen hard button. Anyone have any ideas why? I rebooted and it didnt help.

Have you installed any new apps? Or updates to existing apps?

Honestly nothings been changed in about a week. ihave kg6 2.3.4.

I looked in app manager and saw one update going on so i force stopped it. still lags.

I installed my fitnesspal day before but it isnt running.

I used a blackberry charger last night for 20 mins. it was 750 mA instead of our 1A. Used stock charger overnight.
 
well a factory reset would put ur phone back into the state it was when u bought it. u could do that if u have a complete backup, easily done if ur rooted. it sounds quite strange, ur problem. is it still the same?

No improvement boys. if anything the phone feels laggier.
Is there a how to somewhere that i can follow for backing up and hard resetting my phone?

I wonder what has caused this. :(

My phone came sim locked. will i have to unlock it again?

u can follow this guide to rooting ur phone.. after ur done, install Titanium Backup from the market. it makes a complete backup of ur phone, including homescreen layout.. it really works well, i restored after a wipe and it was exactly the same as before.. even game levels :D

after that, just boot into recovery and do a wipe/factory reset..
then root, install titanium again, and restore :)
 
The lag is almost unbearable now. its like everything is loading from an old abused hdd. i performed a factory reset and there was no improvement. Anyone have any other ideas? would a reflash help? different ROM?
 
yeah, that would also include doing a factory reset.. if that doesn fix it, i think u'd better start trying for a replacement
