Help Phone storage is getting low

Apart from moving my Apps to the SD card, is there any other way of shifting data stored on the internal memory to the SD card. I am utterly frustrated with the constant notification that 'Phone storage is getting low'.
Can you set the phone to utilise the SD card as the default memory for music, pictures or videos, or does anyone else have any creative ideas for what is a constant battle?

I appreciate any help that anyone can give - I'm using a HTC Desire, with a 16GB Micro SD Card, and 2GB internal. With this storage at my disposal, I should not be having this issue.

not without circumventing the operating systems default settings. Look at the Tips and tricks forum. Theres a thread to force all apps to SD card. Please read it all.
