Help phone storage low - help!

Ok yesterday my desire informed me its phone memory was.running low, so I got rid of some pointless apps and games. I've downloaded one game and now its full again.
Have I done something wrong? Un-installing is really quick. Is there anything I can do.

Open Settings->Applications->Manage Applications and then hit menu and choose Sort By Size

The applications at the top are now the biggest ones in memory. Some of them have Memory Caches (stuff that they're remembering) which you're free to clear. If you've cleared all the caches and you're still short of space you'll need to delete apps (or move them to SD card, which is a whole new can of worms - search the forum for loads of advice).
