Help Phone stuck on odin mode

Hello,

I tried rooting my S3 but instead it got stuck on " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."

I tried to connect with Kies and its not working, I even removed the battery but it comes back to the same.

Please can anyone help

What guide were you following to root? What carrier are you on?
And at what point did you get that message? Can you boot into the recovery--- Home/volume up/power?

That seems to solve a lot of issues for me, what does it actualy do?
P.s, do it without charger plugged in or it just turns off
