Phone suggestions?

Yeah, my husband is the primary line, so he got $150.00 off the retail price of the phone, I was still eligible for an upgrade, but I was only eligible for $75.00 off the retail price (or so sprint told me). It was kind of confusing, but I went to BB and just paid the $100.00, Sprint told me it'd be like $300 or something crazy like that if I bought through them.

It's only been a year so we were getting the early updates for being premier customers, maybe that's why?

I know all about the upgrades I thought she said she got it for $100 without using her upgrade. The way I figure it is a premier member gets the price they always have advertised every year, every 2 years for secondary lines. And to figure out the one year secondary line upgrade just take that advertised price and add $75. So it's not like it's only $75 off the regular $400 or whatever "retail price". They do make it way more confusing then they need to. At least we all have the option to upgrade every year, can't beat that. ;)

I probably will, lol. I am going to try the store in the mall and see if they happen to have live phones that I can play around with. Otherwise, it's hard to choose, I watch lots of review videos to get a feel of the phone "in action". lol.

I actually was all set to head out and exchange the zio the other day because of some of the reviews about the laggy keyboard, but then I thought why bother yet? I'm not having issues with the phone, and I have a month to try it. Then I read more reviews saying the transform was laggy as well. I haven't been able to find any on the optimus S, hadn't thought about reviews for the optimus T instead. Going to check them out.

just want to follow up because i found this review specifically for the LG Optimus S where it said Flash is not supported although it is running 2.2. here's the link to the phonescoop review: Review: LG Optimus S : Is It Your Type? (Phone Scoop)

phonescoop liked it.

Thanks, now all I need to figure out is if the optimus is laggy. I've noticed the zio can be kind of laggy, I counted 11 seconds between me hitting the home key and it loading the widgets and shortcuts on my main screen. This was coming out of an app, and it doesn't happen every time, but it does happen often enough that I don't want to spend the $ on a phone that I am going to get irritated with.

From what I've read, the LG is snappy within the UI.

Then again, I'm using Launcher Pro, maybe I should try the zio without it, but I already paid for LP, and I really like it. :(

Well now I'm back to not knowing WTF to do!!!

I don't think I can deal with the "laggyness" of the zio. I am bummed because I really love the screen clarity and the size and feel of this phone. But 11 seconds to load my home screen is not acceptable, and the keyboard is starting to make me a bit irritated.

I even already ordered a cheap case for it because I was really trying to love it.

None of the darn stores around me have the optimus S live, how the heck do they expect people to be able to figure out which phone they want if they don't have live flipping phones!?

I've been researching the 3 cheaper sprint android phones for the past few days now. From what I've read, the transform is just a hyped up moment, with "the same old ho hum options" other than the FF camera. I've been reading that it's certainly not a $150.00 phone. I can't find much about the optimus.

I even tried to use the regular home launcher on the zio but I HATE the fact that one of the dedicated soft buttons is for Sprint iD, I don't need that service and won't be using it, I like my own apps and set up.

*sigh* :(

Well....I got the evo! lol!

I wasn't planning to, I had called around to see if the LG optimus was in stock anywhere, finally a sprint store rep told me he could order it and have it overnighted to the store.

So I brought my zio back to BB asking for a refund.

When I originally bought the zio, they had some issue with my online payment and the sku on the phone in the store, so they had to cancel my online order, refund it to a GC and pay for a phone with a different sku, with the GC. This meant they only were able to refund me a gift card, even though I paid originally online using my visa debit. I had no reason to have a $100.00 BB Gc so I told them I really needed it on my card.

So I had originally called and asked about price matching to sears.com, they said no because it's online only at Sears.

But since they wouldn't be able to refund me on my original card that I'd paid with, they told me they'd go ahead and price match the evo to the Sears.com price, this way I could use my refund gift card, (which was the only option through the register) towards the evo.

What a snappy ass phone it is! I haven't gotten to sit and play with it much because I'm making dinner but once my kids go to bed I'll be checking the phone out and of course, re-downloading all my apps.

Can't wait to hear a womans thoughts. My Hero has just been acting up lately and I'm eligible for my upgrade but I really wanted to wait for the Knight. Is it really fast? Does it feel too big? Any lags or hiccups?

I don't think it feels too big, but my friend has the Droid X and I've used that so I was kind of used to a big screen on hers.

I haven't noticed ANY lag at all yet, but I don't have half of the apps on it that I usually keep on my phones.

My only real let down is that I have a few paid apps that I pretty much don't need now, lol. Launcher Pro, Better Keyboard, etc. I had those for my moment and now with HTC sense, I don't need them.

Urg! I'm probably going to pick one up tomorrow. I know I'll love it just don't know if I'll end up kicking myself when they release the Knight.

Good on you on getting the Evo instead of the Zio.

The insurance is a rip off, whether it's from Sprint or from BB. The insurance is only useful if you're clumsy or really don't take care of your phones.

Far better to spend that $10 on the Evo instead.

lol, well I still opted for the BB insurance. I do think it's a rip off though, Sears.com was offering insurance for like $60.00 for the year, and here I am paying $120.00 for the year.

What makes the BB insurance better than Sprints $7 insurance?

Another +1, I agree with this also. Sprints insurance is definately the way to go. Best Buy insurance does not cover lost and stolen phones. Sprint insurance covers Everything. I once jumped in the pool with my phone in my pocket and Sprint had a new/referb phone overnighted to me the next day. Sprint insurance is very easy, fast and efficient!
