Help Phone totally dead

SO here is what happened:

My phone was working totally fine. The battery was running low (red indicator) so i didnt do anything, just put the phone back in my pocket till i got home (which was only like 15 mins since i last checked). When i get home, the screen is black "okay the battery died" i thought to myself. stick the phone in the charger, nothing happens. wait and wait, nothing happens. tried to turn the phone on, nothing. pulled the battery and tried again, still nothing. The phone is completeeeeely unresponsive.

could it just be a bad battery? i find that hard to believe, i expect it to give atleast some life, considering it was working totally fine. i looked aorund for other people experiencing the same problem, all i could find was this:

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Skyrocket just died... (fully discharged battery)

and it doesnt offer much of a solution. i tried a hard reset, and its still not responding. any ideas?

thanks

OH and the simple solution is just to call ATT, and get a new phone since its still under warentee BUT, i'm in europe for work and they said they wont ship the phone to europe so that means i have to wait till i get back to the US (which wont be for two months!) before i can get the sucker exchanged, or pay for hefty fed-ex charges to have a family member to the exchange for me. I am reluctant to believe the phone is a brick, there has to be a clever way to get it working again.

Thanks
