I have my HTC thunderbolt and it always turns off if I don't have it in the charger. Let's say I charge it and its 20 percent and I lay it down to keep charging and when I pick it up its 100 percent so I start using my phone and all of a sudden it turns off and I can't turn it on unless I plug it back in the charger. Anyone knows why this is going on?

Hey there and welcome to android forums!
This could be one of 2 things here
1) battery could be going bad
2) hardware failure
I'd suggest taking it in to having it looked at or even replaced if you've got issuance on it.
