Phone turns off! Please help!

I just purchased my Samsung Captivate around 3 days ago, and it was working perfectly, definitely the best phone I've ever owned, except for last night it started to do something weird, when i left it on standby, no matter how long(usually around 20 minutes), when i try to take it out of standby, it turns out to be off. This is a huge problem as I need my phone to actually be on, anyone have this problem? or hopefully a solution?

My friend had the same issue with his, he could put it on standby and sometimes it would stay on no matter how long but it seemed most of the time within 15-20mins it would be off kept doing it over and over. We couldn't figure anything at all out other then to take it back and exchange it. He hasn't had one once of trouble out of his new one.
