Phone Upgrade Time! Thoughts on Charge?

This is my second Charge and its not just me. My girlfriend has gone through 3 as well. Verizon gave me an upgrade due to my complaints about the phone so I decided to just move on to the Bionic.

Hmm, that is really strange man. My girlfriend and I both have the Charge and neither of us have had even the slightest hiccup. Mine is rooted, hers is not. Neither of us have any issues.

Anyhow, I hear you on the Bionic. Seems like it will be a sweet phone. Enjoy!

This is my 2nd Charge also. Both were the same. I am going to hold out to see if the Droid Prime is really coming to VZW

Altho new to the forum, I have had my Charge (all 3 of them) for a few months.

After this third replacement failed in front of a VZW manager, they finally let me pick another phone. My D3 comes Wednesday.

Very long story short: camera locked up all the time, random reboots--- even had to uninstall Go Launcher because it locked up the phone (and it shouldn't), overheating at 115.8 degrees, couldn't use any charger but the one that came with the phone only, the amoled screen failed and turned blue then green then black, then it would work. Lost G service constantly. Battery drain like nobody's business, oh and 4g failed.

ALL of the above happened in front of a VZW rep as I waited 15 minutes for him to be free.

I know some like this phone, but I wouldn't recommend it to my enemy. Too bad though because I did like it when it worked. Many can say user error too, and that's fair, but it happened with nothing running in the background, no rooting, no mods, nothing. So up to you, but that's my personal experience.

Now to introduce myself over on the intro forum :)

That's crazy! I can't blame you for moving on.

Fortunately, I haven't experienced and significant issues with either of mine yet.

Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but those who are rooting are having the most problems. I am pure stock & haven't had any problems ( knock on wood ) what so ever. If you are stock & having issues chime in. Maybe this phone just doesn't like to be rooted.

I've got one rooted and one stock (both with no significant issues). The stock one does display very minor lag from time to time.

I'm not rooted. See above :)

Mine is rooted, my gf's is stock. Neither of us have had a single issue with our phones.

Since I've rooted, mine has gone from a great phone to an excellent one. I can't believe what this phone was capable of if you just root it, change the file system and put on a good rom (GummyCharged).

Right now my phone rivals any phone currently on Verizon as far as speed and performance goes.

I'm very sorry to hear people have gone through so many of these phones because mine has been flawless as has my gf's. We are both on phone #1.

too bad rooting is horribly complicated and i couldnt understand anything i was reading or doing. So i didnt continue to do it.
