Help Phone Vibrates While Connecting A Call

I have actually searched this but came out with fuzzy answers. My friend, his roommate and I all bought HTC Inspire's last week. Out of the 3 phones only one phone does this...... when I dial a phone number and the other person answers, I get a slight vibration. Some people have said this feature cannot be turned off. It's a safety feature in case you accidentally 'butt' call someone. I've tried turning off all vibrate setting for keyboard and ringtones etc but it still vibrates when a call is connected.

Are these phones supposed to vibrate when connected to a call or not? I don't know why one phone does this and the other 2 do not.

I came from a Samsung Captivate Froyo and that phone did not do this.

They are supose to do this. Just like if your on a call and you set the phone down face down it will turn the speaker on.

Hmm, then 2 of our 3 phones are defective? Only one vibrates when a call connects.

And there's a setting to where you can turn off turning the phone over so the speaker doesn't come on.

If there's an option for that there should be an option to turn off the vibration when a call is connected.

i am also trying to turn it off.
have seen somewhere that it will vibrate when you don't have the phone next to your ear (screen still on)

HA, was wondering the same thing until i tested it and this is def the case at least for mine, hope it is for everyone else. Quite a nice feature. :)

Hey guys, i have this problem and I believe it's to do with my screen protector

I have the HTC Desire HD and often have the phone vibrate in my ear just after connecting a call to a friend.. it's really annoying, and the screen stays on during the phone call, burning battery for no reason

There's a program you can use called Proximity Screen Off and mine reads
ISL29028 Proximity sensor = <blank>
ISL29028 Light sensor = 160

If I cover the phone with my hand, the Proximity Sensor stays blank but the Light sensor drops to 10

The light and proxmity sensor on my phone is in the Top Left of the phone and apparently screen protectors can fool the proximity sensor.

I used Proximity Screen Off to change the default sensor from Proximity to Light and had to adjust the other settings "Value when sensor covered" and "Value when sensor un-covered"

I miss having a working prox sensor though and will look at replacing the screen cover
