Help Phone went Black for no Reason

My LG Optimus S just turned off while I was textting for no apparent reason. I haven't been able to get any response out of it. It's completley lifeless. Charger and removing battery get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions?? (

Actually after a lot of research I came across the solution.

1. Take out the battery for a few minutes.
2. Hold the HOME and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Then Hold down the POWER button till it turns on.
4. There will be lots of options on the screen that you navigate with the volume keys and select with the OPTIONS button. I simply reset the phone (without the factory whipe). Worked well.

I don't know... I heard somewhere that once you go black, you never go back... not sure if it's true or not, I have never.

Just of curiosity, have you been Gingerbreaded?

I did get the Ginger Bread update about 3 weeks ago now. It hadn't done this before but I don't have any evidence to blame it on 2.3. Plus it's so nice =]
