Root Phone won't boot after HBOOT .92 upgrade

I wanted to try the MIUI ROM, which recommended .92 HBOOT. I was running .79

I did the upgrade, and now the phone won't boot. I can still get into HBOOT and into recovery.

I had been running BFS #5 and SkyRaider Final 3.3.

What is the best course of action? Downgrade HBOOT again?

After you flash the .92 Hboot, you have to do a nandroid restore. The Hboot update overwrites part of your rom but the nandroid restore will fix it and still leave the .92 Hboot in place.

(I was actually able to used advanced restore to restore only the boot portion of my nandroid backup but others have not had luck with this option. You might give it a go first.)

How is the upgrade done?

1. Make sure you have a current clockwork recovery backup

2. Get the radio file ( HBOOT .92 Just another blog )and put it on the root of your sdcard, make sure the name is PB31IMG.zip (be careful that it not PB31IMG.zip.zip)

3. Boot into Hboot

4. It should see the file and ask if you want to install.

5. Install the file

6. Go into clockwork recovery and restore the backup.

7. Reboot.

Thanks, I got stuck doing the exact same thing and I was also able to only restore the boot option and get it to work.

I have a couple questions....
1. If the hboot is restored through nandroid, will it overwrite the hboot upgrade? (I know you said above that doing a complete nandroid restore does not but what about just restoring hboot from nandroid?)

2. And you said the hboot upgrade file was a "radio file". Does this mean we are changing radios or is that just a term for the bootloader?

Thanks! I am new to all this rooting if you couldn't tell..... :D

Nandroid does not back up the radio or hboot. Only backs up the rom. You are not changing radios when you change hboot.
