Since I'm a chef I keep my nails short. Last night I used a small screwdriver to pry the sucker open. Haven't popped it off yet, thankfully.

with hard time opening it all the time
the pass 2 weeks i have been using a nail clipper to open
the top cover
today i guess i pull it too hard
and the usb part got lose
now the phone wont charge
its a goner
i ask in my area it cost 50 buckIt isn't a goner. Find a store near you that does phone repairs. It just has to be re-soldered back in place. It'll probably cost you $35.
